Argentina: Inflation declines to lowest level since June in December

Consumer prices rose 3.84% from the previous month in December, coming in above the 2.53% rise recorded in November. December's result marked the most pronounced increase in eight months. In December, the sharpest rises in prices were recorded for restaurants and hotels, alcoholic beverages and tobacco and transport

Inflation came in at 50.9% in December, down from November’s 51.2%. December's reading represented the weakest inflation rate since June. Annual average inflation rose to 48.4% in December (November: 47.3%).

Inflation is expected to be 47.9% at the end of 2022, which is up 2.7 percentage points from last month’s forecast. Inflation is projected to decelerate to 36.7% at the end of 2023.
