Zona euro: Unemployment rate dips in April
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 6.5% in April from 6.6% in March.
Nine economies saw their unemployment rates decrease in April, including Italy, the Netherlands and Spain. Meanwhile, eight economies had stable unemployment rates, including the France and Germany, while three economies saw their unemployment rates increase.
Significant disparities in labor market conditions between core and periphery countries persist. Spain (12.7%) and Greece (11.2%) are the economies with the highest unemployment rates. At the other end of the spectrum, Malta (2.8%) and Germany (2.9%) have the lowest unemployment rates.
