Polonia: Inflation falls in May
Inflation came in at 13.0% in May, down from April’s 14.7%. May’s reading represented the lowest inflation rate since April 2022. The slowdown was primarily driven by slower rises in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages as well as by falling prices for fuels.
Annual average inflation was stable at April’s 16.3% in May. Meanwhile, core inflation dipped to 12.2% in April (the latest month for which data is available), from the previous month’s 12.3%.
Lastly, consumer prices were unchanged from the previous month in May, coming in below April’s 0.70% rise.
