Dinamarca: Inflation recedes to over one-year low in April

Inflation eased to 5.3% in April from March’s 6.7%. April’s result represented the lowest inflation rate since February 2022. Looking at the details of the release, the moderation was chiefly due to prices for housing and utilities rising at a slower rate in April. Additionally, transportation and food and non-alcoholic beverages price growth softened.

Consequently, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation ticking down to 8.2% in April (March: 8.3%). Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 6.1% in April, from March’s 6.4%.

Lastly, consumer prices rose a seasonally adjusted 0.26% in April over the previous month, swinging from March’s 0.17% drop.
