Un banco central, banco de reserva o autoridad monetaria es una institución que gestiona la moneda, la oferta monetaria y los tipos de interés de una nación (o, en algunos casos, de grupos de naciones). Estas instituciones también suelen encargarse de supervisar el sector bancario comercial dentro de sus jurisdicciones.
