Slovenia: Inflation accelerates in September
September 28, 2012
In September, consumer prices jumped 1.1% over the previous month, which came in above the 0.7% increase observed in August. According to the statistical office, the monthly rise was driven by higher prices for clothing and footwear as well as for fuels. As a result of the monthly increase, annual headline inflation climbed from 2.9% in August to 3.3% in September, which marks the highest level recorded in almost four years. Meanwhile, annual average HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) ticked up from 2.6% in August to 2.7% in September.
