Slovakia: Inflation ticks down in September
October 12, 2012
In September, consumer prices rose 0.3% over the previous month, which was above the 0.1% increase recorded in August. The monthly print mainly reflected higher prices for education, transport as well as for hotels, cafes and restaurants. Despite the monthly increase, annual headline inflation inched down from 3.7% in August to 3.6% in September, which represents the lowest level seen in three months. Meanwhile, annual average HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) inched down from 4.1% in August to 4.0% in September.
