Despite the monthly increase, annual headline inflation inched down from 3.7% in August to 3.6% in September, which represents the lowest level seen in three months. Meanwhile, annual average HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) inched down from 4.1% in August to 4.0% in September.
