Slovakia: GDP growth accelerates in the second quarter
August 14, 2013
In the second quarter, GDP expanded 0.9% over the same period of the previous year, according to a flash estimate from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (SOSR). The print was up from the 0.6% rise tallied in Q1 and marked the slowest growth rate recorded since Q3 2012.
A quarter-on-quarter comparison corroborates the deceleration suggested by annual data, as GDP rose a seasonally adjusted 0.3% in Q2, up from the 0.2% increase recorded in Q1. Updated results for GDP will be released on 9 September.
