Romania: Industrial production bounces back in July
September 11, 2012
In July, industrial output rose 2.9% over the same month last year, which contrasted the 1.3% drop observed in June. The reading reflected strong growth in manufacturing and energy production. Compared to the previous month, industrial production added 1.1% in seasonally and working-day adjusted terms, which contrasted the 0.1% contraction recorded in June. As a result of the stronger annual growth in July, the trend is now pointing upwards, with annual average growth in industrial output rising from 2.0% in June to 2.2% in July.
