Poland: Industrial production accelerates in November
December 19, 2011
In November, industrial production expanded 8.7% over the same month the year before, which was above both the 6.4% increase recorded in October and market expectations of a 5.7% rise. According to the Central Statistical Office (CSO), output increased in the majority of categories surveyed, particularly in the manufacture of furniture and basic metals. On a month-on-month basis, industrial production increased a seasonally adjusted 1.6% over the previous month, which contrasted the 0.2% decline witnessed in October. The trend, however, continues to deteriorate, with annual average growth in industrial production edging down from 7.4% in October to 7.3% in November.
