Poland: Business confidence recovers moderately in November

According to the Central Statistical Office's Business Tendency Survey (GUS-BTS), the general business climate index rose to minus 9.1 points in November, up from the minus 10.7 points seen in October. As a result, the index remained below the zero-point threshold that separates pessimism from optimism for the fifth month in a row. Moreover, at the current level, business confidence is now 4.9 points below the level observed in the same period last year. In general, businesses were mostly pessimistic about their expected production levels as well as their expected domestic and foreign order-books. On the other hand, respondents were least pessimistic regarding the expected selling prices of their products as well as the volume of total liabilities.
