Peru: Businesses slightly less optimistic in November
December 6, 2013
Businesses confidence moderated in November according to the Central Bank's business confidence indicator. The index inched down from the 55 points tallied in October to 54 points. Despite the slight decline, this is the third consecutive month in which the indicator has remained above the 50-point threshold that separates optimism from pessimism.
Improvements were recorded in all but one sub-component of the index. Business expectations for demand conditions in the upcoming three months declined, which more than offset the improvements in the remaining sub-components.
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect fixed investment to grow 10.4% this year, which is up 1.3 percentage points from last month's forecast. For 2014, panel participants see investment growing 9.7%, which is up 1.7 percentage points from last month's estimate.
