Lithuania: Inflation picks up in July
September 6, 2012
In July, consumer prices were flat over the previous month which contrasted the 0.1% drop recorded in June. According to the statistical institute, the result reflected how lower prices for clothing and footwear as well as for communications were offset by higher prices for housing and healthcare. Despite the flat reading, annual headline inflation rose from 2.5% in June to 2.8% in July. In contrast, annual average HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) inched down from 3.7% in June to 3.6% in July.
