Lithuania: Inflation moderates in October
November 8, 2011
In October, consumer prices rose 0.1% over the previous month (September: +0.7% month-on-month), which represented the second consecutive monthly increase. The rise reflected higher prices for clothing and footwear as well as transport. Despite the monthly increase, annual headline inflation fell from 4.5% in September to 4.2% in October, which marked a seven-month low. Along the same line, annual average HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) stepped up/down from XX% in September to XX% in October. The Central Bank expects inflation to end the year at 4.4%, before moderating to 4.1% by the end of 2012.
