Lithuania: Inflation moderates in March

In March, consumer prices rose 1.0% over the previous month (February: +0.4% month-on-month), which represented the largest monthly gain since April 2011. According to the statistical institute, the increase was broad-based and mainly reflected higher prices for clothing and footwear as well as for transport. Despite the monthly rise, annual headline inflation inched down from 3.7% in February to 3.6% in March. Finally, annual average HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) was unchanged at February
