Korea: Industry rebounds in July

In July, industrial production increased a working-day adjusted 0.9% over the same month last year, which represents the highest reading in six months. The print contrasts the 2.5% drop seen in June.
Compared to June, industrial production fell 0.1% in seasonally adjusted terms, which contrasts the 0.6% increase registered in June. Reflecting the higher annual print, annual average growth in industrial production inched up from minus 0.9% in June to minus 0.8% in July.
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panellists expect industrial production to rise 1.8% this year, which is down 0.3 percentage points from last month's forecast. For 2014, participants expect industrial output to pick up to 4.9%.
