Korea: Industrial output slows in December

In December, industrial production added 0.8% over the same month the previous year, which was well below the 3.2% expansion recorded in November. The reading missed market expectations, which had industrial production expanding a stronger 1.2%.
Compared to the previous month, industrial production rose a seasonally adjusted 1.0%, which was below the 2.6% increase recorded in November. In the full year 2012, industrial production increased 1.8%, which represents the lowest pace of expansion in three years.
The Bank of Korea expects the economy to expand 3.2% this year.
