Greece: Industrial production resumes downward trend in September
November 9, 2012
In September, industrial production declined a working-day adjusted 7.3% over the same month last year. The print contrasted the 2.7% rise observed in August (previously reported: +2.5% year-on-year), which had represented the first annual increase since November 2007. The deterioration was broad-based, as all the main categories contracted over the previous month. In particular, manufacturing output and production of electricity recorded the largest losses. As a result, the trend now points downward, with annual average variation in industrial production stepping down from minus 5.4% in August to minus 5.9% in September.
