Estonia: Inflation ticks up in June

In June, consumer prices rose 0.1% over the previous month, which contrasted the 0.1% decrease observed in May. According to Statistics Estonia, the increase was mainly influenced by seasonal price increases in fruits and vegetables. As a result, annual headline inflation inched up from 3.8% in May to 3.9% in June. Annual HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) fell from 4.3% in April to 4.1% in May, the latest month for which data are available. Annual average HICP inflation inched down from 4.8% in April to 4.7% in May. The Central Bank expects HICP inflation to average 3.9% this year and 3.2% in 2013.
