November 5, 2010
In August, the monthly indicator for economic activity (IDEAC, indice de Actividad Economica Coyuntural) rose 12.6% over the same month last year, contrasting the 7.8% drop recorded in July. A month-on-month comparison corroborates the positive result suggested by the annual figures, as economic activity expanded a seasonally adjusted 0.15% over the previous month, which contrasted the 0.28% drop recorded in July. Moreover, the trend continues to point up, as the annual average growth reached 6.0% in August, which almost doubled the 3.2% growth recorded in July.
