Croatia: Industrial production rebounds in October

In October, industrial production rose 2.0% over the same month last year, which contrasted the previous month's 2.3% drop and, in fact, was the first positive reading since June. According to the statistics office, the September print improved as manufacturing rebounded, whereas mining and quarrying, as well as electricity, deteriorated further. A month-on-month comparison does not corroborate the suggested by the annual figures. In October, industrial output declined a seasonally adjusted 0.6% over the previous month, which contrasted the 4.0% expansion seen in September. Nevertheless, the trend improved, with the annual average variation in industrial production stepping up from minus 1.6% in September to minus 0.9% in October.
