Colombia: Industrial production slows down in December
February 27, 2012
In December, industrial production (excluding coffee threshing) expanded 2.4% over the same month the previous year, which was down from the 6.6% rise observed in November (previously reported: +6.5% year-on-year). The monthly expansion was mainly driven by growth in the production of meat and fish products, oil refining as well as non-metallic minerals. A month-on-month analysis corroborates the deterioration seen in the annual figures, as industrial production contracted 6.29% over the previous month, which contrasted the 2.15% increase recorded in November. For the full year 2011, industrial production expanded 4.9%, which was unchanged from the 4.9% pace recorded in 2010.
