Colombia: Consumer confidence picks up for first time in five months in November

December 10, 2011

In November, the Fedesarrollo index of consumer sentiment grew to 23.6 points (October: 20.6 points), which represented the first monthly gain since June. The November improvement was broad-based, as the consumer expectations sub-index jumped from 25.5 points in October to 29.5 points in November, while the component reflecting the current economic situation of households rose by 1.5 points to settle at 14.8 points. That said, the consumer confidence index remains well above the 0-point threshold that separates pessimism from optimism.
