China: Industrial production continues to moderate in June

In June, industrial production rose 8.9% over the same month last year, a slowdown compared to the 9.2% expansion observed in May. The result came in below market expectations of a 9.1% increase.
Seasonally-adjusted data showed that industrial production expanded 0.68% compared to the previous month, which is up from the 0.61% rise tallied in May. The trend stabilized, with annual average growth in industrial production remaining steady at the 9.5% recorded in May.
For 2013, FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panellists expect industrial production to grow 10.3%, which is unchanged from last month's projection. In 2014, the panel sees industrial production growth inching up to 10.4%.
