Bulgaria: Inflation eases in June
July 12, 2012
In June, consumer prices fell 1.0% over the previous month, which followed the 0.1% drop recorded in May and marked, in fact, the sharpest decline since June 2006. The monthly reading reflected lower prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages as well as for transport. As a result of the monthly drop, annual inflation eased from 1.7% in May to 1.6% in June, the lowest level in two years. Annual average inflation also moderated from 2.9% in May to 2.7%.
