Australia: Business sentiment rebounds at the end of the year
January 29, 2013
In December, the business sentiment index published by the National Australian Bank (NAB) rebounded to plus 3.0 points from the minus 9.0 points seen in November. With the December increase, sentiment moved above the 0-point threshold that separates positive from negative opinion and reached its highest level in five months.
Sentiment improved across all sectors, with the exception of wholesale trade. Transport and utilities was the sector showing the highest confidence level, whereas sentiment was lowest in wholesale.
