Argentina: Consumer confidence eases in November
November 22, 2011
In November, the Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) consumer confidence index eased to 56.7 points from the 57.7 points recorded in October. Despite the moderation, consumer sentiment remains well above the 50-point threshold separating optimism from pessimism. The result was driven by a moderation in the sub-index relating to the general economic situation, while the sub-component related to the personal economic situation improved over the previous month. Despite the improvement, households expressed less willingness to purchase durable goods than in October.
