Montenegro Exports (EUR bn) | Economic News & Forecasts

Montenegro - Exports (billions of Euros)

Growth likely remained subdued in the second quarter, following a slowdown in the first quarter. Industrial production declined again in May, albeit at a much softer pace than in April, due to falling manufacturing output and electricity and gas supply. Likewise, merchandise exports fell in the same period, dragged down by lower metal and steel shipments. Meanwhile, momentum in the tourism sector ebbed in April–May after tourist arrivals had surged in Q1. On a brighter note, in early July, the government announced the completion of the submarine power cable linking Montenegro and Italy. The interconnector is expected to go online later this year, and should boost electricity transit by up to 70%.
