Macedonia - Current AccountThe economy continued to expand at a steady pace in the third quarter, with GDP growth matching that of the second quarter. Household consumption and government spending both picked up in Q3. On the flip side, total investment contracted for the third quarter in a row, albeit at a weaker rate than in Q2. On the external front, export growth moderated in Q3 while import growth accelerated. Turning to Q4, retail sales posted solid readings in October and November while tourist arrivals were robust in October, signaling buoyant private consumption.
