Vietnam: Inflation slows in March

In March, consumer prices rose 0.16% over the previous month, which was well below the 1.37% increase recorded in February and marked, in fact, the slowest increase since July 2010. Inflation slowed on the back of a drop in food prices, which nonetheless was not large enough to compensate for increases in the prices of housing and transport. Annual inflation slowed from 16.4% in February to 14.2% in March, which marks the lowest rate since April last year. As a result, annual average inflation inched down from 19.4% in February to 19.3% in March.
