Vietnam: Inflation picks up in September
September 24, 2012
In September, consumer prices rose 2.20% over the previous month, which was above from the 0.63% increase recorded in August and marked the largest increase since May last year. The reading was driven by higher prices for healthcare as well as for education. As a result of the monthly pick-up, annual inflation rose from 5.0% in August to 6.5% in September, the highest rate in three months. However, annual average inflation fell from 13.4% in August to 12.1% in September, the lowest level since May 2011.
