Vietnam: Inflation drops to lowest level in more than two years
June 25, 2012
In June, consumer prices fell 0.26% over the previous month, which contrasted the 0.18% increase recorded in May and marked the lowest result since December 2008. The reading was driven by lower prices for transport and housing. As a result of the monthly drop, annual inflation plunged from 8.3% in May to 6.9% in June, which marked the lowest rate since December 2009. Annual average inflation fell from 17.6% in May to 16.4% in June.
