November 1, 2013

In October, industrial output rose 5.9% over the same month last year, up from the 5.6% rise recorded in September. The increase was driven by an expansion in mining and quarrying as well as in water supply.

Industrial production expanded 6.7% over the previous month, which was well above the 0.5% rise observed in September. Annual average growth in industrial production remained at September's 5.9%.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants estimate that industrial output will grow 5.6% this year, which is unchanged from last month's forecast. For 2014, panelists expect industrial production to expand 6.9%, which is unchanged from last month's estimate.
