Vietnam: Growth in industrial production decelerates in February
February 3, 2015
In February, industrial output rose 7.0% over the same month last year, which was a slowdown over the 17.5% increase recorded in the previous month. February’s deceleration was broad-based. Manufacturing as well as electricity, gas and water registered the fastest decreases over the previous month.
Industrial production in February fell 19.2% over the previous month, which was a deterioration over the 2.8% drop seen in January. Annual average growth in industrial production fell from 8.8% in January to 8.1% in February. The month-on-month variation was affected by a base effect due to the Lunar New Year, which was celebrated in February this year.
