Vietnam: Growth in industrial production decelerates in August

In August, industrial output rose 9.9% over the same month last year, which marked a deceleration compared to the 11.3% increase recorded in the previous month. August’s reading represented a three-month low. The increase was broad-based as all components of the index registered annual expansions, with the electricity gas and water component registering the strongest growth.
Industrial production in August fell 1.3% over the previous month, which contrasted the 1.1% rise seen in July. However, annual average growth in industrial production inched up from 9.7% in July to a record-breaking 10.0% in August.
