United States: Home prices increase again in April

June 30, 2015

In April, the unadjusted S&P/Case-Shiller 20-city home price composite index increased 1.1% over the previous month. The result followed the 0.9% increase registered in the previous month and was in line with market expectations.

Home prices rose 4.9% over the same month of last year, which was just below the 5.0% rise recorded in March. S&P pointed out that annual price increases were smaller in 11 of the 20 cities surveyed.

According to the director of the index, “home prices continue to rise across the country, but the pace is not accelerating.”
