United Kingdom: Industrial production rebounds in November

Industrial production increased 2.1% in November over the previous month, contrasting the 1.1% drop recorded in October and marking the highest figure in seven months. The increase was driven by an expansion in the mining and quarrying sector as well as in the manufacturing sector.

Industrial production increased 2.0% over the same month of the previous year in November, contrasting with the 0.9% decrease seen in October. Annual average growth in industrial production inched up from 0.7% in October to 0.8% in November.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists project that industrial production will increase 1.1% in 2017, which is up 0.1 percentage points from the previous month’s forecast. For 2018, the panel expects industrial production to increase 0.2%.
