United Kingdom: Consumer confidence index jumps to highest level in over a decade
June 30, 2015
In June, the GfK NOP consumer confidence indicator jumped from 1.0 point in May to 7.0 points. The figure marked the highest reading since January 2000.
June’s figure reflects an improvement in consumers’ perceptions regarding their personal finances as well as the general economic situation in the next 12 months. Adding to that, consumers were more willing to make major purchases in June compared to the previous month.
