October 26, 2015
In September, consumer prices rose 0.31% over the previous month, which followed the 0.92% increase observed in August. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, September’s figure mainly reflected higher prices for housing, food and soft drinks as well as for transportation.
Inflation eased from August’s 4.9% to 4.3% in September, thus marking a three-month low. However, annual average inflation inched up from 3.8% in August to 3.9% in September, which marked the highest level on record.
