United Arab Emirates: Inflation drops in August

Consumer prices rose 0.07% in August compared to the prior month, contrasting July’s 0.52% drop. According to the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, August’s uptick was mainly driven by higher prices for furniture and household goods and transportation. Inflation dropped from 1.2% in July to 0.8% in August.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants expect inflation to average 2.4% in 2017 and 3.2% in 2018.
