United Arab Emirates: Inflation declines in November

In November, consumer prices fell 0.20% over the previous month, which contrasted the 0.11% increase tallied in the previous month and marked the lowest reading since February 2012. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the figure mainly reflected lower prices for food and soft drinks as well as for textiles, clothing and footwear.

Annual inflation decreased from October’s 3.1% to 2.8% in November, which marked the lowest print in three months. Annual average inflation inched up from 2.1% in October to 2.2% in November.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants expect inflation to be at 3.0% in 2015, which is up 0.4 percentage points over last month’s projection. For 2015, the panel sees inflation rising to 3.4%.
