Ukraine Inflation June 2021

Ukraine: Inflation remains steady in June

Consumer prices increased 0.22% from the previous month in June, moderating from the 1.28% increase seen in May. June’s result marked the softest rise in prices since August 2020. The moderation was primarily due to plunging prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels grew at a more subdued pace.

Inflation came in at 9.5% in June, unchanged from May’s result. Meanwhile, annual average inflation rose to 5.7% in June (May: 5.1%). Lastly, core inflation rose to 7.3% in June, from the previous month’s 6.9% reading.
