Ukraine Inflation November 2016

Ukraine: Inflation edges down in November

December 9, 2016

In November, consumer prices rose 1.8% from the previous month, which followed October’s 2.8% increase. October’s reading had marked a six-month high.

Inflation edged down from October’s seven-month high of 12.4% to 12.1% in November. Price pressures picked up in October and are expected to linger at an elevated level due to adjustments in gas prices. Annual average inflation continued to ease however, falling from 20.4% in October to 17.5%, the lowest result since February 2015.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect inflation to end 2016 at 11.0%, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2017, the panel sees inflation easing to 8.4%, which is also unchanged from the previous month’s estimate.
