Ukraine: Inflation eases to over-one-year low

April 11, 2016

Consumer prices rose 1.0% in March over the previous month, which contrasted February’s 0.4% fall. March’s rise marked a four-month high.

Inflation eased from February’s 32.7% to 20.9 in March, which marked the lowest reading since October 2014. Annual average inflation eased from 49.3% in February to 47.3%.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect inflation to end 2016 at 14.1%, which is down 0.4 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2017, the panel sees inflation easing to 9.3%.
