Ukraine: Consumer prices fall to record low
June 6, 2012
In May, consumer prices fell 0.3% over the previous month, which came in below the flat reading recorded in April. The drop mainly reflected lower consumer prices across the board, particularly in the food and non-alcoholic beverages category. Owing to the monthly print, consumer prices dived 0.5% over the same month last year in May, which contrasted the 0.6% rise observed in April and marked, in fact, the lowest reading on record. The Central Bank anticipates that inflation will not exceed 5.0% this year.
