Ukraine: Industrial output rebounds in March

April 29, 2019

Industrial production rose 2.1% year-on-year in March, compared to the 1.8% dip in February. The result marked the first increase in industrial output following four consecutive months of contraction and was nearly entirely driven by a strong rebound in the manufacturing sector.

Meanwhile, on a seasonally-adjusted month-on-month basis industrial output rose 2.4% in March, compared to a 1.8% contraction in the previous month. Lastly, annual average growth in industrial production ticked up from 0.7% in February to 0.8% in March.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists project that industrial output will grow 2.3% in 2019, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2020, the panel expects industrial production to rise 2.9%.
