Ukraine: Contraction in industrial production continues in August

In August, industrial production declined 5.4% over the same month last year, which was a deterioration over the 4.9% contraction recorded in July. On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 2.5% over the previous month, which contrasted July's 5.1% expansion.
Annual average growth in industrial production fell from minus 4.4% in July to minus 4.7% in August, the lowest reading since April 2010.
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants estimate that industrial output will contract 1.0% in 2013, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month's forecast. For 2014, panelists expect industrial production to accelerate to 2.7%, which is also down 0.1 percentage points down from last month's estimate.
