Turkey: Consumer confidence falls further into pessimistic terrain in July

July 19, 2021

Consumer confidence fell to 79.5 in July from June's 81.7. As a result, the index remained below the 100-threshold, and indicated pessimism among consumers.

The fall came on the back of a deterioration in consumers' assessments of the general economic climate. In addition, views of the labor market outlook also deteriorated.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see private consumption expanding 4.4% in 2021 and increasing 3.7% in 2022.
