Turkey: Business confidence rises in July

The Real Sector Confidence Index published by the Central Bank rose from 104.9 in June to 105.4 in July. As a result, business confidence moved further above the 100-point threshold, which indicates an optimistic outlook for business conditions.

July’s result showed that businesses were more optimistic regarding the total amount of orders over the next three months. In addition, firms were less pessimistic regarding the general business situation in Turkey. Conversely, firms were less optimistic regarding the volume of output for the following three months.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see fixed investment experiencing a 2.4% expansion in 2015, which is down 0.1 percentage points compared to last month’s estimate. In 2016, panelists expect investment growth to accelerate to 4.4%.
