Turkey Business Confidence March 2017

Turkey: Business confidence hits 10-month high in March

March 27, 2017

The Real Sector Confidence Index published by the Central Bank improved markedly from 105.3 in February to 108.1 in March, the highest figure in 10 months. As a result, the index lies further above the 100-point threshold and indicates optimism among firms.

March’s result was driven by improvements in firms’ views regarding future production, employment and overall order books. At the same time, sentiment towards the general business situation grew slightly less pessimistic.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see fixed investment expanding 1.1% in 2017, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate. In 2018, panelists expect fixed investment to grow 2.7%.
